The Still, Small Voice of the Holy Ghost

“They heard a voice as if it came out of heaven; and they cast their eyes round about, for they understood not the voice which they heard; and it was not a harsh voice, neither was it a loud voice; nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being a small voice it did pierce them that did hear to the center, insomuch that there was no part of their frame that it did not cause to quake; yea, it did pierce them to the very soul, and did cause their hearts to burn.”

~Nephi, a prophet, describing the Holy Ghost

“A great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks … ; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:  And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire [came] a still small voice.  And it was so…when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave.”

~Elijah, a prophet, describing the Holy Ghost

“Thus saith the still small voice, which whispereth through and pierceth all things.”

~Joseph Smith, a prophet

“…the still, small voice is felt more than heard.”

~Boyd K. Packer, an apostle

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

~Jesus, as quoted by Matthew

“For when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men.”

~Nephi, a prophet

“I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.”

~Nephi, a prophet
